The NOAA Coral Reef Conservation Grant Program, as authorized under the Coral Reef Conservation Act of 2000, provides matching grants of financial assistance for coral reef conservation projects, with the exception of grants to Fishery Management Councils, which do not require match. The Program solicits proposals under six funding categories: State and Territory Coral Reef Management, State and Territory Coral Reef Ecosystem Monitoring; Coral Reef Ecosystem Research; General Coral Reef Conservation; Projects to Improve or Amend Coral Reef Fishery Management Plans; and International Coral Reef Conservation. Each funding category has specific applicant and project eligibility criteria.
